Harrison reflects on Whenua Iti

The Power of Encouragement
My eyes were stinging. Sweat was dripping down my forehead as I asked Nicole if I could hold the bars in the shade.  I walked up the ladder with my heart pounding. I thought to myself, “should I do this?”

It took me quite a while but my instincts said yes.
I jumped into the air. It felt like I was falling to my death. I was terrified.  You might ask how I could throw myself off a post four metres off the ground to certain death?   I don’t think I would have jumped without people encouraging me.

Everybody in Room Six did the trapeze! That shows you the power of support and encouragement.

If you believe in yourself, you would be surprised at what you can do…even the trapeze!
